TORAH UNLEASHED: EMPOWERING INDEPENDENT EXPLORATION OF TORAH

With - Rabbi Zaslow
Baum Board Room, In Person
Time - 8:00 pm
End Time - 8:45 pm

DESCRIPTION

Each year we study Torah on a cycle, beginning with Bereshit (Genesis) and ending in Devarim( Deuteronomy). If we read the Torah in Hebrew or in translation, we are only experiencing the tip of the iceberg: every verse of the written Torah is a wellspring of rabbinical commentary, interpretation, and spiritual innovation. Through Torah Unleashed, we will learn-how-to-learn-Torah; how to access Torah commentary independently! This course is recommended for conversion students, those who are curious about how to encounter the Torah outside of a class, and those looking for spiritual and ethical connections to the Torah. Students with prior experience with Torah commentary, or who sign up for both fall and spring, can use this course as a guided independent study.
All students should bring a laptop or tablet (iPad) to each session.
This class is multigenerational – open to B’nai Mitzvah students, teens, and adults of all ages. Registration is required.
